My New Adventure!

So I’ve decided to start up my blog again- although I guess it shouldn’t be called “Born to Fly”…maybe “Born to Float”?! (haha gotta thank my cousin Adam for that one!) I don’t know if I will be blogging every single day like I did when I was in Europe, but if I have a story to tell I will definitely be putting it up here for you guys! It’s been a looooong day, so here’s what happened!

I actually managed to get some sleep last night- even if it was only 3 hours! On the way to the airport we hit a raccoon- I started to freak out that it was a “bad omen”…but luckily everything has been going smooth so far! (knock on wood) I got to the airport two and a half hours before my flight…luckily I didn’t get there any earlier, though! It’s so silly- they tell you to get there THREE HOURS before your flight…yet they don’t say that US Customs doesn’t open until 4:30am. So if you actually followed their directions, you would’ve ended up waiting in line for an hour!

I was a little unsure about what I would encounter at customs since this was my first time taking a trip for “business”. But it turned out to be a breeze! I breathed a sigh of relief though when I went up to the customs officer and he said “Where’s your husband?” and then he did the Joey from Friends “How you doin’?” line. It was a little much for 4:30 in the morning, but I didn’t want to cause any problems so I just smiled and giggled! Haha

So not only did Princess book me on the world’s earliest flight, but they also made me connect in Charlotte, North Carolina! Yes, if you know anything about geography it was totally out of the way! I slept most of my first flight- I don’t know if it was just because I was so tired or all that white noise lulled me to sleep but I couldn’t keep my eyes open! And although US Airways isn’t a horrible airline, they lose points because they have NO in-flight entertainment! No TV screens on the seatbacks…not even a big screen at the front of the plane! They DID have wifi internet though , which I really wanted to try. Internet while you’re thousands of feet in the sky?! How cool is that?? BUT, it was expensive…and I’m cheap so that didn’t happen LOL.

Going off topic for a second-But a little observation I made on the plane today: why is it that the SECOND the seatbelt sign goes off when you land everyone IMMEDIATELY jumps up?? There is NOWHERE to go! It’s the same thing when you’re boarding the plane. Why does everyone want to be the first one on the plane?? Ohhh, humans are so weird.

We landed in LA slightly ahead of schedule- although it took FOREVER to get my baggage so I didn’t get to my hotel until 1pm. (I shouldn’t complain though- slow luggage is better than lost luggage!) I have already met a bunch of people that are also joining the ship tomorrow- and we are from all over! England, China, Australia, United States…I am very excited to meet more of my co-workers and get on board tomorrow. It will probably be an early night for me-I’m pooped already and its only 3:00! Plus we gotta meet in the lobby at 7am tomorrow morning AND I’m sure it will be a long day of training…so what am I doing sitting here?! I should get to bed NOW!

Lots more to come- stay tuned!!

Love, Dianna

  2. OH GOD I KNOW!!! the jump up at the seatbelt thing. I don't get waiting in the stand position. I just stayed seated, it's a lot less claustrophobic when you are sitting. Dianna I am so excited and proud of you (it's the mommy gene kicking in ha) for taking on a new challenge! I love you so much and can't wait to read your blog and see pictures, and live vicariously through your blog hehee.

  3. As Dad & I were leaving, the US Customs crew were rushing-in to begin .. the long line-ups were everywhere.
Did they provide any food on the plane?
