Day 4: Showering, MORE Sweets & Sesame Street for adults!

The worst part about travelling has got to be showering. No, I don't have a thing against personal hygiene, but it is so frustrating trying to figure out how other people's showers work! It's either a different kind of handle or a certain lever you have to pull...or you get to play the guessing game on how much hot vs. cold you need to put on! Why can't there be a universal design for showers?! Please, someone come up with that...

Anyways, today was my last full day in London before I left for Paris so that meant I needed to fit in a full day of sightseeing! First stop, the Borough Market to find the BEST brownies (of course this day involved sweets- duh!). Apparantly they could be found at the Flour Power Bakery, so that is where we went. I must admit they were delightful, but I'm not sure if they were better than the cupcakes we had yesterday (as well, they didn't top the dessert we had tonight, but more on that in a bit...) Then we checked out the Globe Theatre (of Shakespeare fame), the Tate Modern, St. Peter's, and then headed home on a red double-decker bus while passing Picadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square...ya, no big deal! All the old architecture was incredible; why can't they make buildings like that anymore??

We recharged for a few hours at home, then it was off to a yummy dinner at Arbutus. Salmon salad, lamb, and a "floating island dessert"- all to die for! I actually remembered to take a picture of the dessert BEFORE I devoured it, so prepare to be jealous:

Then it was off to the THEATRE (I said that with a posh British accent FYI) to see Avenue Q. It was absolutely hilarious! It was like Sesame Street for adults (or if you've seen the movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", it reminded me of the vampire play with puppets!)

So tomorrow I am actually heading off on my OWN, although I must admit, I'm having so much fun here I don't want to leave! I'm a little anxious of not knowing what's to come, but very excited about all the possibilities. Another city, another country, and another blog tomorrow! Talk to you then!

Love, Dianna
