Day 29: Time is A-Tickin'!

Time is just flying by...can you believe its already October?? (I guess its harder for me to comprehend since the weather is still so nice here!) And its only 2 more days till Mom leaves...something WE just realized yesterday! We actually booked our hotel in Nice for 2 nights when we are only going to be there for one...oops! Since our little holiday together is coming to a close Mom is living up to her goal of eating as much pastry as possible! After breakfast this morning we picked up a few goodies for a snack later on. We then wandered around Vieux Port...checked out some sights, did some shopping...

Then we hopped on the bus up to Notre Dame de la Garde- a beautiful church overlooking all of Marseille. We enjoyed the amazing view while eating our yummy treats. (FYI- they were NOT crazy expensive, AND they were actually some of the best pastry we've had so far!
We headed back downtown for a little more sightseeing on foot, but then we decided to take a boat cruise to Frioul Island- a tiny little place just about 20 min away. Very peaceful (no cars, barely any people) and, of course, very beautiful! We also got some amazing views of Marseille from the boat:
For dinner we headed back to the same place as last night (we couldn't resist!) and had another amazing meal. (FYI- I did see creepy waiter dude from last night but I avoided the bathroom so he couln't get me alone! haha) Tomorrow morning- off to Nice!

Love, Dianna

PS. On a totally random topic- I'm not sure if this is a European thing or just a new (and really ugly) trend starting up, but I have been seeing an oddly large number of rat tails around...not the animal, the hair style where you grow one really long piece of hair at the back of your head! I've seen long ones, short ones, on kids, women, they've been curly, straight- I once saw a curly one on a bald man...try and picture that! I truly hope that this atrocity is contained to a small area of Europe and that this epidemic does not spread. It's the end of the world as we know it! (I thought mullets were the only thing we had to worry about!)
